Soverel 39

From the Manufacturer’s 1980 brochure.

“Born from previous Grand Prix successes, the Soverel 39 racer-cruiser is the ultimate sailing yacht – light, yet strong, resulting from the use of the latest construction techniques. A complete interior for the cruising family – a competitive one-tonner for the hard core racer. She bears the trademarks of a well-planned Soverel design: the walk through transom, long waterline, powerful 15/16ths rig, generous sailplan and high strength/weight construction.

The Soverel 39 sails at the high performance end of the racer-cruiser scale. She bulleted the One Ton class at Block Island, the 1985 Nassau Race, and Fort Lauderdale-Key West fleets, and a raft of PHRF and IMS contests.

Perhaps the best news, given such well proven racing pedigree, is the level of detail in the Soverel 39’s luxurious accommodation. It reflects the skill of the same craftsmen who have made Tartan Marine Company famous for 25 years. The contemporary styled interior boasts a superbly crafted teak panelled salon, which is bright and uncluttered and can comfortably sleep eight racers or cruisers. The galley is roomy and functional with abundant cabinet space.

For the no-compromise grand-prix racer, the Soverel 39 can be specially ordered with an optional ultra light weight accommodation plan. Whether a racer-cruiser or a grand-prix speed machine, every Soverel 39 is an experience worth sailing. Her standard hardware and rigging list is second to none.”
